Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay. I must have received a lot of requests for regular updates on this blog. So, I’m planning to have an update on weekly basis or at most monthly basis. Also, I’ll be adding a new feature on this blog which would be helpful for all. It will be added within a week or two.
Moving forward with this post. Many players ask me questions like “How can I improve further?”, “How should I improve my boom?”, “Why is my micro-management slow?”, etc. One of the best way to improve your gameplay is to “Watch Replays i.e Playbacks”. I know it’s little boring to waste an hour on watching a replay rather than playing a game. But, let me tell you that is one of the best ways to improve your gameplay.
Many players watch replays/recorded games and have improved their gameplay. One of the best example of this is “|IND|_DangerousDave“. Three years back, he was an average player. Now, he’s one of the best players of the game. So, how did he improve so much? I remember that he used to observe players like “Halen” i.e “kaerunohito” , “seifer008” and “Redbul” to improve his booming skills. Watch his own replays and learn. He mixed up his skills with their skills and has become a very strong player.
I’ll be writing this post in 4 parts which are as follows :
How To View? – Basically, how to view a replay with screenshots.
What To Look For? – This would be the main learning post which would guide you what to look for while watching a replay.
Game Stats – Another important aspect is to glance through the achievements and know your strengths/weaknesses. This is very important because it gives you a complete idea of your performance in the game.
Sample Game(s) – I’ll be posting 1-2 game(s) and would like you to tell me what mistakes were done.
Just an appeal to all expert players to comment and share their views on the successive posts.
This Ameya guy is too pro!
Go ameya!
Mostly everyone knows about it People wants to learn fast not spend time on watching replays.
That’s my view for now.
But you can’t improve without knowing your mistakes. If you want to improve then you will have to watch your replays. To learn something new you will have to watch other player’s play. Check out the future posts. Would help ya! π
U can learn by playing with pros but it times but its more fun than watching reply π
Time*
You can’t improve fast. You’ll end up playing 100+ games with an expert player but never reach his level because you never analysed your game play or never saw what extra thay player does to win over you.
You are talking about practice only. While I’m talking about knowledge only. Just knowledge alone isn’t enough. Nor only practice only would suffice.
Knowledge with practice would any day make you an expert.
Ok u win as always π
No Mitesh. I’m not here to win this argument! Telling you the fact. Because you’ll find many players (Won’t name them) who have 2x 3x amount of games than I ever played online, but they never improved because they never bothered to know their mistakes. Even I ain’t improving further because I ain’t watching my lost playbacks. Nor do I have time to watch replays. :/
Still there are players like GAD_SlowRex who seldomly play online but check all their lost replays. The moment he loses a game, you’ll find him away for 10 mins. He’ll be observing his game and learning. That is why they manage to maintain their gameplay for a long time.
Just a matter of priorities. You can keep playing for years as an advanced player or might strive to be an expert. π
